Sermon Title: Honored by All
Scriptures: Hebrews 11:1-6
Part Of Pastor Dave’s Sermon Series: The Offense of Marriage
- Read Genesis 1:27-31. What does God command Adam and Eve?
- What is the one thing that God said wasn’t good before the Fall?
- What kind of things happened to marriage after sin entered the world and corrupted relationships?
- Read Matthew 19:1-12. How were the religious people trying to “use” the scripture to excuse their low view of marriage? Where did Jesus take the discussion of marriage?
- Read Ephesians 5:22-32. Notice how the gospel weaves in and out of Paul’s instructions to husband and wives.
- Marriage is not God’s invention to make you happy, it is God’s invention to transform you and display the gospel. What difference does it make when we embrace this as the purpose of marriage?
- How may we take the offensive and honor marriage?
