Training, Including, and Equipping parents to make disciples in the home

Family Discipleship

We recognize parents as the primary disciplers of their children. While we do offer and value weekly Sunday school programming, it is not meant to replace God’s plan for family discipleship, but rather, it is intended to be an extension of those efforts.  Woodridge desires to come alongside parents and equip them to live out the Biblical patterns of Discipleship as laid out in Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Psalm 78, Ephesians 6:1-4 and the great commission.  Click on the links below to see what we recommend for daily family worship by age level.  If you have children of multiple ages, you may have to pick one and have your older kids help lead or just mix it up a bit.  We want to include parents in our Sunday programming and encourage parents to serve once a month in some capacity.

Safety

To ensure the safety of your children, all servants must have completed a thorough servant application, submitted to a criminal background/reference check, and have been asked to serve by a member of the Woodridge leadership team.  We also require that there is a minimum of two unrelated adults supervising children at all times.   Anyone convicted of child abuse or a related offense may not serve in Woodridge’s Children’s ministry.

Location & Times

The Little Lambs Nursery is located upstairs in room 203. The nursery is available during both services starting at 8:45 for 1st service and 10:15 for 2nd service for infants – 2-year-olds.  Children must be 2.5 years old and mature enough to listen to a 5-minute lesson before graduating to Little Splashers.

 Parent Co-op

Our nursery is staffed primarily by parent involvement. Parents who are regular attendees will be scheduled to help in the nursery, usually once every 4 to 6 weeks. We also have grandparents and youth who have graciously volunteered to serve in the Little Lambs nursery.

Secure Check in

At the Nursery desk, you and your child will receive tags with matching numbers.  Please show your tag to the volunteers upon pick up so they can check for a match.

Sunday School Classes

Our Sunday school classes provide fun,Christ-centered, age appropriate Bible teaching, along with prayer, crafts, and worship through song.  We encourage regular communication with your child’s teacher as we work together to see children come to know Christ and grow in Him.

Serving

We have a team of qualified and called teachers.  We rely heavily on a rotation of volunteer classroom helpers and strongly encourage parents to fill out an application and serve once a month in some capacity.
