Layering Contextual Horizons

In this week's class, Layering Contextual Horizons, we talk about the three horizons of understanding any Biblical text in its context, namely, the textual, the epochal, and the canonical horizon.

We also give a brief overview of the Biblical covenants and look at the role they serve in defining these horizons, especially the epochal. We end with a practical example of how all three of these horizons overlap by looking at the passage on the prohibition of tattoos in Leviticus 19.
