Jesus Had to Die

In Luke 9:22 Jesus foretold his death and resurrection stating that, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.” Jesus made many other statements like this in the Gospel of Luke about the necessity of his death and resurrection. This year for Good Friday and Easter Sunday we will take time to consider Jesus' statements in the gospel of Luke about why he had to die and why he had to rise. The aim of these two sermons will be to help us worship God and to increase our joy in the gospel.
