The 6th Commandment Part 2 | Though Shall Not Murder (suicide, euthanasia, do not resuscitate orders

Aug 5, 2026    Drew Hacker, John Pfannerstill, Luke Dufek

Join us as we conclude our discussion on the Sixth Commandment in this episode. Part one originally aired on July 22, 2026, and in that episode we explored what Scripture teaches about just and unjust killing, addressing abortion and its various cultural arguments, the government’s God-given authority in just warfare and capital punishment, the legitimacy of home and self-defense, and the ethical questions surrounding IVF.

In this episode, we turn to the personal and often painful topics of suicide, euthanasia, end-of-life decisions such as DNR orders, and the challenges that come with terminal diagnoses and treatment options. We also consider overlooked implications of this commandment, such as how preserving life includes cultivating healthy habits and honoring our bodies as God’s temple rather than treating them like a junkyard.

Join Pastors Pfannerstill, Hacker, Dufek, and Best as they continue part two of the Sixth Commandment and reflect on the value of human life on this episode of TreasureCast. After you watch or listen, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Email us at treasurecast@woodridge.cc with questions, feedback, or suggestions for future episodes.
