The Glorious Deliverance of the Lord

Throughout history, the Lord has been faithful in delivering his people. He often achieves this victory by means of judgement on the enemies and adversaries who plague them. In Psalm 18, David recounts the day when the Lord delivered him from his enemies and from Saul, by way of defeating David’s foes. For the Christian, there is no greater or more glorious deliverance than the victory at the Cross of Christ as Jesus defeats the adversary and frees his people. Psalm 18 helps us, as David did, look back at all the Lord has done, praise him for it, and be confident that future grace will be supplied.
