The 6th Commandment | Thou Shall Not Murder

Thou shalt not murder! A seemingly straightforward command to follow… right? Wrong. At least not in our culture, where murder often goes unpunished and certain forms of it are even celebrated. Why is this commandment so widely ignored, both in society and, at times, even within the church?

Most people agree that the obvious forms of murder driven by anger or malice are evil. But what about the ways people attempt to justify other forms of taking human life, such as intentional abortion or even unintentional abortions? Is all murder wrong? And what about killing? Does Scripture distinguish between the two?
